Welcome to the patch notes for the biggest update Aiyana has ever had! Since the last patch I’ve brought someone onboard to help with the code workload and we have been Really busy getting everything ready for release.
There have been more than 600 new additions to the project for this update!
The biggest changes have been in the animals and the player. Both have been rewritten almost from scratch to help make future work with them easier as well as to drastically optimise some of their costs and address some of the major flaws in the previous versions.
As well as this we have many other major new features:
[h3][b]New Animals[/b][/h3]
Four new animals now appear in the world:

We have also added logic for most animals to be able to swim
[h3][b]Portals Systems[/b][/h3]
The starting portal can now be repaired to teleport you somewhere in the world.
You can also discover new portals in the world and link them to each other to make exploring easier.
Each portal will have a chest nearby with some loot such as new cooking recipes.

[h3][b]Map Updates[/b][/h3]
Instead of having to craft a cartography kit the map is now always available by pressing M.
Its UI has been updated to include a legend of icons to help find points of interest in the world as well as be pannable and zoomable.

[h3][b]Biome Updates[/b][/h3]
The formulas for spawning biomes have been reworked so it’s much easier to find the more interesting biomes such as the swamps and savannah.

[h3][b]Auto Sorting Inventory & Multiple Hot Bars[/b][/h3]
The inventory has been updated to sort anything dropped into it automatically so that you don’t have to.

Alongside this new perks have been introduced to have multiple hot bars to save you constantly having to go into main inventory.

[h3][b]Performance[/b][/h3]
Performance has been drastically improved in all areas. CPU time has been reduced, we found and fixed a drastic use of memory that wasn’t intended.
World loading algorithms have been remade to make world loading both quicker and smoother.
Finally GPU rendering time has been reduced by replacing old point light systems with more efficient versions.
[h3][b]Structure Builder[/b][/h3]
The structure builders interactions have been reworked to solve a few awkward scenarios as well as to make planning out a big structure more fun.
Now you can place blueprints in the world even if you don’t have the resources to build them, meaning you can plan out an area and the resources are taken from your inventory as you walk by.

There are also new UI options to expand the fencing of your building area without needing to remove your structure first.
[h3][b]Archery[/b][/h3]
Archery has been given a bit of an overhaul and things like quivers have been removed. Now firing a bow will fire arrows found automatically in your inventory.
The perk tree has also had a pass and is now fully functional. Some new perks include spells for improving your archery abilities.
The UI has been updated for whenever you hover over a bow or arrow to give you more information about its stats.

Finally critical damage systems have been added and icons are shown whenever you get a crit.
[h3][b]New Objectives & Perks[/b][/h3]
The objectives have been reworked and new ones have been added to help explain more of the mechanics within Aiyana such as the structure builder.

Perks have also been reworked and a new Crafting category has been added in order to make some of its perks more accessible and the exploring tree less sprawling.

Alongside this some spells have been moved to be available as perks so they are easier to unlock such as Teleport Home, Dash and Detect Fish.
The perks screen has also been made pannable so it’s easier to use.
[h3][b]Fences & Signs[/b][/h3]
Fences have been given a quality of life pass so they now join to walls and each other in a way that looks more natural.

Signs have been reworked so if you place one on a wall it will turn into a wall sign that looks more sensible to be hanging there.

[h3][b]Misc Additions & Changes[/b][/h3]

[*] The day & night durations have been changed to be longer
[*] Cloud shadows have been reworked to be much fainter which should make the world feel much brighter
[*] Pickups will now float in water so they are easier to gather
[*] Settings for a max fps of 72 and 90 have been added. These are more likely to introduce tearing if you select an option that is too high for your setup and is a scenario we hope to improve in the future
[*] Added a new setting to disable tutorials
[*] Water visuals have been improved so it’s easier to spot the water surface. There is more work we want to do here but it’s complex so we have left it as a lower priority until we fix some more important features
[*] Wooden tools have been added back into the game
[*] Drain Life spell now has targeting visuals so it’s easier to see when it should work
[*] The placing blocks system has been improved to feel more responsive by removing the previous placement animation
[*] Experience pickups are now more obvious with an extra icon to explain what you are picking up and how much of a reward each is
[*] Crafting UI has been reworked a bit so search is more obvious and the ‘All’ category is the default. The groups have also been further refined in an attempt to make things easier to navigate
[*] New settings for anti-aliasing have been added to the performance options screen
