Hello peeps! Happy holidays, happy new year! First of January today, so let's hit off 2024 with a bang. I have decided to take a different approach to Void Strife now. Whilst it's not updated in the store page, that will come through soon as I figure out some quirks of the new design. Void Strife, as the game is called for now, will revolve around you stampeding as animals throughout a procedurally generated stadium/arena, for the entertainment of the world in a dystopian future where people don't like violence on people, and robots don't like violence on robots. So what's left? Animals! The mega corporation Pets O' War has decided to strap weapons on cybernetically enhanced animals, and let them fight through non-sentient androids to try and generate as much ad revenue as possible for the ad participants. The ad participants, or shareholders as I will call them in game, will provide the items that the player can pick up - meaning there will be very unique items ranging from dog food to missiles. Akin to a roguelike, these items will change how the player interacts with the world and enemies around them. As you do more runs, you will unlock more characters by defeating large bosses or securing certain achievements. Right now, the only implemented animal is the horse as that will be the default one that you start with. However, I'm planning to make most animals different in the way they play too, for example one might be extremely slow but will have a different tactical advantage, one might be able to mind control enemies, etc. The whole world's my oyster since animals are cybernetically enhanced! Certain enemies will drop certain items, often whatever weapon they themselves are carrying. I personally feel these changes were required, because I didn't feel like Void Strife had enough substance on its own, and I decided to take things in a less serious way than I was originally planning. Thank you for reading, have a wonderful year! Andrei xx
