Release Date
Magic Research 2 releases on Tuesday, May 21st, at 11 am US PT (UTC -08:00)!
If you have played the Demo on the same PC, your progress should automatically transfer to the full game. If it doesn't, please reach out to the support email: magic.research.game@gmail.com.
Demo Patch 1.1.0
In a separate bit of news, I launched a new version of the Magic Research 2 Demo. This includes mostly minor changes such as bug fixes and small balance changes, but it also includes two new features (both of which will, of course, be present in the full game as well).
The first feature is called "Quick Channeling". it is a section on the "Cast Spell" menu that can be used to quickly be able to channel various elements without needing to go through the menus. This should hopefully make some of the game less frustrating!
The second feature is the ability to import Magic Research saves into Magic Research 2 to obtain a small bonus on your save, depending on your progress in the original. To use this feature:
[olist]
[*] First, make sure you are on version 1.1.0 or above, in the About screen!
[*] Go to the Options screen and scroll all the way down to "Load Data". The message should have a small comment about Magic Research saves.
[*] Paste your Magic Research save data into the text field, and then press "Import Savefile". Note: Importing from a file will not work due to a bug, but this will be fixed in the next patch. Note 2: If you paste a Magic Research save data, this will not delete your save data.
[/olist]
If you did it correctly, and if you've made sufficient progress on your Magic Research save, you should get a message in red explaining the bonuses you've achieved, which should help with the early game. There are a total of 3 bonuses; can you unlock them all?!
(If you have unlocked bonuses but decide you would rather play without them, you can turn these off from the Options menu.)
