Furnaces will now heat up the player's surroundings depending on the type of furnace, and a method to cool your surroundings down in the early game was added as well! Here's the evaporative cooler in action in a desert, a hot biome. It cools down the player's surroundings with liquid water, and the effects are greater the closer the player is to the evaporative coolers! Most rocky fields and deserts will have a higher temperature variation of around 15-20°C (Very rarely up to a 30°C difference), while more forested biomes such as Taigas, Temperate Forests, and Jungles will have lower variations, usually less than a 10°C difference. [h3]Diurnal variations on Luna[/h3] Due to the lack of an atmosphere, the temperature difference between day and night are now much greater, usually having more than a 200°C difference between day and night. Temperatures on Luna will still have no impact on the player's survival. [h3]Diurnal variations on Aquatica[/h3] Since this is an oceanic planet, the variations here are now much lower, usually less than a 3°C difference between day and night regardless of biome. Speaking of Aquatica... [/list] [h2]Aquatica's new water colors[/h2] [list] The color of the water will now vary depending on the temperature, and there's also a new water texture floating above the player. The GPU will now do most of the work, and the CPU sends tile data to the GPU only when the player moves to a new chunk. In older versions, the CPU does most of the heavy lifting on a single core for every tile every frame, leading to low frame rates when zoomed out far enough where thousands of tiles have to be rendered. [/list] [h2]Particles[/h2] [list] [*] All particles now move in 3D space, where particles appear larger the closer it is to the camera in the z axis. [*] Particles will now have a buoyancy effect. It's especially apparent on Aquatica where text will now rise to float above the water. [*] Reduced how long damage numbers and bouncy text linger after appearing. [/list] [h2]Treasure[/h2] [list] [*] Increased the quantity of the majority of treasure items by a factor of 2 or 3, and doubled the coin cost of all the treasure. [*] Items will now show more descriptions when hovered on, and they all use the same font as the text displaying the name of the item.
