Hey there! Nathan the Game Dev here! It's been a while since our last update, so we have some things to talk about! This patch not only updates Cinnamona's and Flealix's 3D models (they look so good, btw!) but also changes a major gameplay structure for our Arenas. So let's take a brief dive into this change. The gate in the Arena will no longer open for early escape in the later portions of the waves, but rather *roughly* at the midway point (depending on the Arena). For example, in the Dark Forest, which has 24 waves total, the gate opened for early escape on wave 20. [b]Now it is wave 12![/b] That seems EXTREMELY early, but another change is that [b]the gate is only open for a single wave[/b] and if the player decides to stay and fight, the gate closes and will [b]NOT[/b] open until the Arena is conquered! That might sound strange, but let's discuss a few reasons why we've decided to make this change. [olist] [*] We noticed that players felt like the time between the gate opening and completing the Arena was not significant enough to leave early. Feedback we've gotten was that the risk was low and players would rarely choose escape over fight. We think changing when the gate opens and shutting it until all waves and bosses are defeated greatly increases the risk/reward that we were originally wanting. [*] Give an opportunity for players that just want a very short run to jump out at that early escape point and collect their reward, although it does not count as a True Survival. Pre-existing players will see some stats that don’t add up correctly. Example: If you add up all the individual stats for enemies defeated, they won’t equal the total enemies defeated on the general enemy stat page. This is because we’ve always been tracking the number of enemies a player has defeated for skill unlocks, but have only been tracking how many enemies an individual character has defeated behind the scenes in v0.3.1 (That was our little secret) [/list] [list] [*] General UI updates [/list]
