■Battle Effects and Music - Elements that Enhance the Main Visuals to Make a Great Game!
When we speak of RPG games, what often comes into our mind are the more visually vivid elements such as the Story, Character Designs, or Map Designs. However, the Battle Effects and Music are just as important - acting like the icing of a cake, it is the synergy between visuals and audio cues that ultimately contribute to making a great, memorable game! Thus, this time, we would like to introduce some of the changes we have made to RPG Maker Unite’s battle effects and music! Also, a portion of RPG Maker Unite’s soundtracks are now available on our website for you to try out!
■Users Can Use Either Effekseer or Unity’s Particle System to make Battle Effects!
In RPG Maker MZ, our most currently available RPG Maker title, battle effects are mostly created from Effekseer, a powerful external application for creating particle effects, and then imported into the engine. Now since RPG Maker Unite runs on the Unity Editor, Unite users can also opt to use Unity’s built-in Particle System to create battle effects from scratch, and import into RPG Maker Unite! Of course, battle effects made externally using Effekseer can still be imported as was in RPG Maker MZ. Users can choose which solution they prefer to work on and can freely choose what to assign in their game! Below are some samples battle effects available in Unite’s default asset library: With RPG Maker Unite’s native resolution being upscaled to Full HD, this certainly is exciting news for creators who wish to make their battles more visually engaging than ever!
