Hi Chefs! We are incredibly grateful for our growing community of chefs, and we thank you for all the support and feedback provided over the past 2 weeks! As promised, here is our roadmap for major updates moving forward. Between each major update, we will also continuously add minor additions to the game. These include improvements suggested by the community and fixing any bugs that pop up. By the time of the Fishing update, the text will be more finalized, and we can begin translations for multiple languages. We will give further details on the languages we plan to translate in the coming months. New Game Mode Discussion Chef RPG’s restaurant gameplay is modeled off the old Facebook game Restaurant City. This is a more casual, hands-off game with an emphasis on growing and decorating your restaurant. We have also received a lot of feedback from players who prefer a more challenging, faster-paced, hands-on restaurant gameplay as opposed to a relaxed hands-off experience. Our best guess is there are an equal number of players who prefer a more relaxed game versus wanting a more hands-on, challenging experience. We think the best solution is to offer an alternate game mode. We had always planned for the game was to include a more challenging game mode to give more weight to the RPG aspects of the game. After receiving a lot of feedback from players, we are slowly getting a better idea of the kind of features this new game mode could contain. The current game won’t change very much and will be called “Story Mode.” The new mode will be called “Chef Mode” and will feature some new gameplay mechanics. The image below shows our preliminary plans for each mode. We also plan to add a few more general improvements to the restaurant gameplay. This would result in a more structured gameplay loop – collect ingredients & complete quests by day, serve customers by night. This is a relatively common gameplay loop seen in other games. Chef Mode will also require the player to be quicker in the restaurant, due to having more things to manage. Timed challenges will give more weight to the Skills that you choose to learn. Let us know your thoughts on the new game mode, and potential features you would like to see in this new mode. We will still need to explore the features a bit more and test the gameplay, so items in this list might change. We plan to add the new game mode during the Festivals & Relationships update next Spring. Soundtrack Available Now! Chef RPG’s soundtrack is now available for purchase on Steam! The album features 27 unique tracks (total 57 minutes) composed by musician Tim Beek. More tracks will be added to this album as we further develop this game.
