Merry Christmas everyone!
We've uploaded another build for beta testing, and updated a number of things as we prepare for release!
As it stands right now, currently we ended up having a few professional beta testers go though and play the earlier builds of the game. As of right now, we've fixed a number of issues we've found with the game, and added some new features.
One of the things we've added is dynamic generation, as a possibility. One startup, if one chooses the default option for universe generation, then upon entering a galaxy or void that one has not explored before, then the universe will generate new galaxies and voids adjacent to it, theoretically allowing the size of the universe to be infinite!
Additionally, we've changed a number of other things, including the following:
Full Changelist:
-Dynamic Universe Generation
-Moved Mercenary Infantry to be produced at MIlitary Bases
-Moved Fanatics and Suicide Bombers to be produced at cities/civilian buildings.
-Added rings to planets.
-Multiple victory/defeat outcome descriptions.
-Added an event showing after battle statistics.
-Added some announcer speech.
-Added additional Alien/Empire/etc name possibilites.
-Updated some unit stats.
-Added additional battle effects.
-Random artifacts now show up on planets as consumables on the planet view.
-Bug/Crash fixes.
-Tutorial now starts with humans.
-Warping shader for black holes and neutron stars.
-Raindrops now show up on screen in battle map.
-Nebulae, Star Clusters, and Galactic Cores now have specific names.
-Galactic cores now generate planets.
-ESC key now brings up menu.
-Allowed bloom setting to be adjustable/disabled in options.
-Number of graphical changes.
-Heavily changed/upgraded battle AI.
-Radio sources/habitable planets now have tooltips, and display better.
-Updated deploy descriptions.
-Numerous dialog/tooltip changes.
-Tons of bugfixes.
-Tons of other changes that I can't think of/aren't worth mentioning.
Something to note is that while we aren't hitting our December release date, we are in the final round of testing. We're been spending time (and money) on beta testing for the purposes of ensuring that we have a quality game to release. Looking like a January release at this point.
Again, Merry Christmas!
