Hello everyone, After yesterday's news, many reactions and opinions were shared, I want to clarify some things to make sure we're all on the same page with the same ground truth. 1. Is it really solely the fault of the competing game and content creators? Obviously no, I did unrightfully attack others while I also had my part in the issue... Releasing an update soon after the competing game's release, not having enough resources and knowledge in marketing, decisions taken too late... I've messed up quite a few things. Content creators did betray me and favorited the competing game, which is totally understandable. I should also note that yes, the competing game caught me by surprise, I was part of the non-believers that thought this game was never going to happen, and I may have relaxed too much thinking I didn't have anything to worry about... 2. Am I working on other projects already? Yes. Since I've begun developing games, I've always worked on about 5 projects at once, and decided Park Studio would be the first one to leave pre-production, unfortunately the complexity of the game and the niche target audience caused it's demise, I did not have nearly enough knowledge in the video game industry to both develop and promote the project, leading to this situation. Looking back at it, the project would have never been financially viable due to the extremely restricted audience that it was targeting, the project would probably have reached Beta and then the struggle would have continued. 3. So is the project dead or..? The project isn't dead, I know the title was a little dramatic and it may have seemed like the game was completely going to be abandoned, but it isn't. I will do my best to keep working on it as a fun project instead of a commercial project, like I did before releasing it on Steam. I will most likely work on the project from times to times and eventually release a public update. But, as stated in yesterday's announcement, I will not be making bug fixes or small content additions as I did previously. 4. Was it all a scam then? No. I did not make any profit from Park Studio, the money was used to live and develop the project, and when I ran out of budget, I was forced to take drastic decisions. I want to make this very clear: it is not a choice to put the project in stand-by, it is the only solution. 5. Will there be a final sale? No. Park Studio was originally going to be on sale for Steam events, but I don't think it's fair to put a sale on a game that isn't being actively worked on. While I won't pull the game off of Steam, I won't do any sale until the game is back in active development. 6. What's next? I will move on to simpler, broader projects, find a job in real life, and continue developing games as a passion, develop Park Studio when I can, but the focus will now shift on more financially viable projects with larger target audiences, because game dev is still my dream full-time job. Do not worry, Creye Games will be back. Thanks to everyone who believed in Park Studio, who purchased Park Studio, and sorry to all people that feel betrayed and sad... This was my first experience as a non-professional solo game developer, and I will make sure to not make the same mistakes twice in future projects. Have a nice day.
