Greetings, Mages! 🎃🧙♂️
It’s spooky season, and Fablecraft will offer a free, fun Halloween adventure to all you Mythans in the mood for pumpkin spice and something nice. In this week’s edition of Fablecraft Friday 🎊, we’ll share details about that adventure and the update it’s coming with.
Before we begin, the planned release date: v0.19.0 of Tales of Fablecraft, which includes the Halloween one-shot, is slated to launch on October 22nd, 2024. That date could change, but we’ll share the news of this update’s availability as soon as it’s live.
Let’s start with the update’s key features
The Halloween one-shot won’t be the only thing arriving with Fablecraft’s next update. v0.19.0 includes some larger feature requests, bug fixes, and enhancements, too. We’re sharing the marquee items now, but we’ll detail everything in next week’s patch notes.
A place for personal notes
One of the most requested features on our feedback site – in the number two slot as I draft this update – is a place for personal notes. That note system arrives with this update.
Players and GMs will find the note-taking tool in their side tray. You’ll be able to create distinct notes with their own titles and body text. These notes are persistent within a single campaign; that means they are only connected to one campaign, but they’ll be there every time you boot the campaign up.

This is a great place to make note of an interaction, jot down clues for a riddle, or, as a GM, record a key element of one of your player’s backstories.
Overhauled dice rolls and sound effects
Since launch, we’ve heard from players that our dice feel a bit too floaty, slow to roll, and featured some relatively repetitive clacking sound effects that deserved some attention.
Here’s what that roll has looked like since launch.

With v0.19.0, we’ve updated the dice-rolling physics to be much more natural and realistic. We’ve also overhauled the sound effects that accompany the twists and turns of fate.
Here’s that new roll.

Way faster, right? The new roll speed feels significantly more realistic and cuts down on moments when rolls tend to go on for far too long. Specifically, these new rolls feel much better during Arena runs and when waiting for the full party to roll against a skill check.
The Brawler Collection gets its final VFX and SFX
Finally, the Brawler Collection’s visual and aural effects have been brought up to our standards with this latest update.
We shared previously that our team fell ill as they were working through the VFX for this collection, and that was a key factor in its delay. Now, owners of the collection will find that everything looks and sounds as good as it was intended.
A Fright in Fallen Branch, your free Halloween one-shot, will be available for a limited time
Something’s amiss in the village of Fallen Branch, Mages, and it’s up to your party to discover what’s befallen poor Dill Tallgrass. This brief adventure should run your party roughly 60-90 minutes and has been tuned for Mages at level 3 or 4. As always, if you have a stronger or weaker party, we recommend adding or removing monsters from encounters.
This one-shot features new music and Halloween variants of backgrounds and monsters from the base game.

A Fright in Fallen Branch is your new Halloween one-shot, and it will be available in the in-game marketplace for free. All you need to do is log into Fablecraft once the update is available on October 22nd, 2024, navigate to the marketplace, and select the “Free” button below the adventure.
Be sure to do this soon! The Halloween one-shot will only be available for a limited time. We’re slated to remove it from the marketplace on November 19th, though that date may change. If you’re interested in picking this one up, be sure to log into Fablecraft and grab it near Halloween.
The GM Council is here
The Grand Mage Council of Mythas has been convened! Please welcome the first members and Mages to join this storied institution; you may know them from their Discord handles: Basil (kobanya), Eclipse_Storm, EvolDeezul, Murphy (neptune612), Sharyuan (onyx_direwolf), TGFTavern, and ChibiBree!
Our goal with this council of Mages is to work more closely with our community through these ambassadors and to have their voices added to the chorus that will help grow the Fablecraft community. We'll be sharing more very soon on how the GM Council will appear, and we hope you get a chance to meet these members more soon! Come say hi in our Discord!
Before we go, the iPad version of Fablecraft is coming very soon
We know some folks are really looking forward to the tablet version of Fablecraft, and we have some good news to share on that front. The iPad version of Fablecraft is coming very soon.

Fablecraft will offer cross-play across all platforms, so you’ll be able to take your existing account onto new devices as they arrive.
Fablecraft feels great on a tablet, and we can’t wait for you to try it.
