Round-Based Arena Mode
The Pit has now opened up its arena to regular fights, which means you can sign up for a chance to go through all 12 rounds in one go, to gain a reward as well as the throne-holder title. If you die or quit in any of the rounds you will be ejected from the Arena and will have to start from Round 1! To access this round-based arena mode, you will need to have access to The Pit and have defeated Donovan 'Ribcage' Campbell. Talk to the Pit Overseer to sign up for the arena - only 100 CorpCreds! wow! To accommodate for this extra mode, a few changes to the combat were made
Combat Changes
- Blocking will now take into account the angle of the attacker, meaning you won't be able to negate damage even if they're attacking you from behind or off to the side. - Attacking while blocking (jab punch) can now only be done if you're less than 80% Fatigued. - Blocking attacks will now increase Fatigue. - Riposte after a parry is faster - Parrying (blocking just before an attack) doesn't affect Fatigue The reason for these changes is to make combat a bit more challenging and the reward the sweeter. I was very lenient from the start since I was a bit worried players would find the combat either annoying or too hard or both, but now this arena is a chance to warm up and get used to the combat. But of course, during the main story the choice is always there to ignore combat and let everyone else do the fighting for you.
Other
- Audio settings/motion blur slider should no longer reset between different sessions/choosing different levels. - Fixed environment models missing some faces in the Arboretum level. - Slightly changed The Pit arena ground to have less protruding geometry so it's smoother to move around in it. - Fixed some player ragdoll issues due to the previous update. - Fixed Jackson's computer not properly deactivating prior menus. - Added U-Fix injection SFX On a final note, it's been really motivational reading all the recent positive reviews. I messed up alot on launch due to stress and just a general lack of knowing what I was doing (still d to be fair), but at least now I have room to think on how to approach certain aspects of the game post-launch. Anyway, I'm not done with it and I'm already working on more extra stuff for the game - next major update maybe end of the year or early next year!
