Patch Notes - Version 0.4
Major Changes:
Overhauled Stats & Leveling System:
• Level bonuses for allied units will no longer be automated.
• Each level-up will grant 1 stat point to be distributed by the player.
• The bonuses granted by stat points vary depending on the unit's base class.
Overhauled Augments System:
• The maximum number of augment sockets has been reduced from 5 to 3 to emphasize choice and tradeoff rather than stacking.
• Substantially buffed augment bonuses, especially at low levels.
Overhauled Tutorial/Help System:
• Implemented a completely new tutorial system that walks the player through the tutorial level, first combat, and town UI.
• Implemented a faster help system structured more like a Cheatsheet rather than an instructional manual.
Other Major Changes:
• All combat-related values are now represented as larger numbers to improve readability and eliminate confusion (e.g., 10% of 33 is 3.3 but was still displayed as 3, which was confusing). Adjusted all content accordingly.
• All damage output was multiplied to increase the pace of combat, requiring players to rethink some strategies.
• Reduced progress required for completing regions from 6 to 4, with the exception of some notable regions which will be relevant in the future.
• Rewrote all lore, reducing its size and scope, and updated location and unit names accordingly to ensure feasibility of planned localization efforts.
• Suffering a defeat in a battle will now teleport you to town. A world turn will be counted and the units that have died will stay that way.
Minor Changes:
• UI:
• Inventory is no longer locked while the loot window is open, allowing players to trade-off loot items for inventory items.
• Increased mod icons (buffs/debuffs) to bring them in line with other previously increased icon sizes.
Regions & Dungeons:
• Xenium Mines and Caves regions should now always be level 1, as will the encounters, regardless of encounter rarity.
• The default behavior of auto-adjusting the level of regions according to the average formation level will now only kick in after the two starting regions.
• Added color-coded shimmer to indicate encounter rarity.
• Buffed many of the ritual rites.
• Reduced the number of altars in dungeons and increased their significance.
Battle:
• Using "wait" now grants instant stamina regeneration equal to its positive initial value. The initial value is set when entering battle, meaning it can be affected by rituals or curses but cannot be further modified during the encounter. However, if when initiating the encounter this value is negative or 0, this functionality will be ignored.
• The enemy's portrait will now be displayed on the right side during the enemy's turn.
Settings:
• Added Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty settings upon starting a new game. This can only be changed when starting a new game.
• Added a gamma option in settings. This setting applies instantly and does not require confirmation.
MISC:
• Increased max bound units in Refugee Camp from 6-12 to 8-16.
• Added short descriptions of Purgatory and Medial Ward effects.
• Updated facility tooltips to reflect recent changes.
• Combat music should now only be drums, without the theme.
• Redesigned sections of the tutorial map to accommodate lore and tutorial system changes.
• Improved performance in battle maps and for some of the combat units.
Bug Fixes:
