Today, we’ll explore another excellent teacher—your own past experiences.
Children of Morta’s DNA runs deep through Wizard of Legend 2
Prior to working on Wizard of Legend 2, Dead Mage created Children of Morta, an acclaimed rogue-lite action RPG lauded for its carefully crafted and expansive story, stellar gameplay, and engrossing progression loop. Now the team is thrilled to have the spirited, Arcana-infused world of Lanova as their canvas.

“Children of Morta taught us a ton about integrating story into a rogue-lite game,” says game director Aryan Bina. “We're building on what we learned, but with a greater emphasis on procedural storytelling in Wizard of Legend 2. Our goal is to preserve the original game’s fast pace, so we’ve put a lot of effort into making sure we can effectively convey the story through in-game commentary from the main characters.”

Cooperative multiplayer came as a post-release update to Children of Morta, and adding such a substantial feature to an already established game was a challenge. Dead Mage took that experience to heart for Wizard of Legend 2, which will launch with local and online co-op supporting up to four players.
“We’re designing Wizard of Legend 2 with multiplayer in mind from the outset,” Bina says. “From building strong network architecture, to working out all sorts of gameplay-related details—stuff like multiplayer game balance, visibility and readability—these are all things that we’ve been lucky enough to be able to address as soon as we started the project. Our intention is to make Wizard of Legend 2 as fun and balanced in groups as it is playing solo.”
