In our previous Arcane Knowledge mini-series entry, you learned more about Arcana and the enhancements you can apply to them. Wise wizards learn to master the combinations available to them. But most wizards aren’t wise, and they will learn today’s lesson the hard way…
Death is inevitable (but progression is permanent)
There’s no way around it: you will die a lot while playing Wizard of Legend 2. Ascending to the pinnacle of arcane prestige is not supposed to be easy! But the good news is that you—well, technically, the endless parade of ambitious wizards you’ll guide through the trials of the Floating Lands—will only get better after each death. The more of them you feed it, the more permanent upgrades it will bestow upon you to aid in future runs. “One primary upgrade available through the apparatus is the Double Dash," says game director Aryan Bina, calling out a power the team expects will be an early must-pick for many players. “This allows wizards to execute a second dash immediately after the first, which is particularly useful for traversing pits.” The Floating Lands are littered with pits, and being able to dash over them in dual succession is both liberating and life-saving. Switching up your wardrobe is not only good for morale, but each robe also confers powerful gameplay benefits. “Some robes are designed specifically to assist players less experienced in this genre,” says Bina, and will be helpful for beginner wizards who may just be coming to grips with the rogue-lite hazards of the Floating Lands.
