Good evening! Due to popular demand, I have paused the tutorial update to add in mouse support. Initially I had focused on the keyboard for simplicity and keeping the controls centralized (on the default bindings), but I've had the most requests for some kind of mouse support. The good news is that the in game portion is prototyped and working at about 70%. Mouse steering is an optional new way to control your ship, controlling speed with mouse wheel, abilities with the clicks, and the ship orientating itself towards the mouse cursor. The steering portion will be toggled, as it wont be everyone's cup of tea, but mouse buttons will always work, allowing you to use both if you still wish to steer via WASD but fire your weapons via mouse clicks, etc. The upgrade menu has been converted to allow for either, and will give you a 2 second pause to relocate your mouse if you have mouse steering active (so selecting something doesn't swerve you into a missile when it closes). I hope to have this portion on the beta in the near future, with a bit more testing. The bad news is, converting the rest of the menus will *probably* take a little longer, as they werent designed for that from scratch, but I intend to fully integrate the mouse for consistency sake. I'm on the fence whether to push all the new QoL features to an updated demo after this update is completed, or to wait for the full tutorial/onboarding upgrade to be finished. The demo is already outdated, based on a build from June, so it needs a refresh ASAP. On the other hand, I'd like to only really work on it one more stretch (aside from bugs etc) so I can focus any future updates on the main game.
