Update 1.03 is now available on the beta branch. More QoL tweaks and some balance changes. Balance: -Biggest change due to the most commonly received feedback. Permanent upgrades are now much cheaper, with the largest reductions to the first tier of each upgrade. The intention was never to create a grind, and new players were taking too many runs to get even the cheapest upgrade. This was an oversight due to the test players being really really good at the game now. My math was based on the 2-4k average gold per VICTORY, forgetting that the unusual play style of the game can see new players dying before 100. Moving between the beta and the standard should preserve your upgrade level (even if you buy cheap with the beta and move back to the main branch). The costs are internally coded and save files are unaffected by the update. -Buffed flak cannons. Every time I watch someone new play I get nervous it was a bad pick, meaning it was much too weak. It gets stronger as the game goes on naturally, as more enemies exist to be hit by it. I was tempted to rewrite them with some targeting but it's the only totally random AOE weapon currently. Now it deals slightly more damage and has an extra shell in every level of its volley. It might get more love after testing/feedback QoL: -Resuming the game with a controller will no longer trigger a ships 3rd ability -Controller menu is now an image of a controller instead of a wall of text. -Warp ready prompt now displays the key/controller button for 'interact' instead of the word 'interact'. I even found myself occasionally using an item when I meant to warp. -Fixed an event forcing the comms dialogue in the tutorial to disappear fast. -continuing to hunt down more inconsistent audio volume -Bosses should no longer spawn on top of you if you are close to a warp gate. Smaller enemies are less likely to now. The bosses size made them feel unfair as they dwarf the gates in most cases. -The Tank ship now has a funny name instead of "name WIP tank ship"
