About this dlc   Hardware Requirements

The source is strong

We made Mazelit with the open source game engine Godot 4.2. The game itself contains well over 5,000 lines of code, written from scratch using GDScript and some C++. This DLC offers you insight into how the game was made and gives you the ability to compile it yourself for any platforms that we do not officially support. Build instructions are included for Windows and Linux.

If I buy this DLC, is this actually the full game build?

Yes, you get full access to our real game build and can compile and change it for your own personal needs. You can modify it, break it, fix it, or make mods with it - and publish what you created. Check out our guide with detailed build instructions.

What platforms can I run the game on?

Officially, we support Windows and Linux. The source code includes a touch control interface for mobile devices and the game should work on all platforms supported by Godot.

Can I publish another game using Mazelit code?

You can publish mods for Mazelit freely. If you include our code in your mod, mark any code you copied with a comment. If you would like to use our code in any game other than Mazelit, please contact us first.

Ok, but can I resell the game under another name or on another platform?

No.

Why are you selling this as a DLC?

We want to give people the opportunity to use it as a starting point for learning games development and/or to create mods. Additionally, we want to keep the price of our base games accessible and instead provide DLCs with additional goodies, which is a way for you to support us - if you would like to.
Mazelit is not open source. The source code is only for your personal use under the Steam Subscriber Agreement to learn, to create mods, and to compile the game for officially unsupported platforms at your own risk. Do not publish the source code unless explicitly permitted by the LICENSE file in the corresponding folder. Do not publish the compiled game.

In addition to the rights granted to you by the Steam Subscriber Agreement, you may publish any mods for Mazelit you create containing small parts of the game code if they are not playable without the base game. If you publish the source code for your mod, publish it under a license that disclaims any warranties, clearly mark any sections containing game code, and link to this store page. You may also create videos, blog posts, Mazelit modding tutorials, and other content about this DLC or your Mazelit mods that include small sections of the source code as long as you inform your viewers/readers where the code comes from.

If you would like to use any code or content for games/apps other than Mazelit, please contact us first.
