IMPORTANT! Because the update is still being tested, the information in this article is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live.

You may remember the Mode Shuffle temporary battle type that randomly placed you in either an Airship Escort, Convoy, or Arms Race battle back in Update 13.6. Well, it's returning in 13.9, but with one important change—Arms Race will be removed from the rotation in favor of the Epicenter mode, which we last saw on the Live Server back in Update 0.11.4!
Not only is Epicenter making a reappearance, but its team point-earning system has been updated to better reward risk takers who venture into the inner Key Areas, as well as make the endgame more interesting.

Update 13.9's Event Pass is dedicated to an important German holiday that celebrates the reunification of East and West Germany after the end of the Cold War.

The dynamic Bounty Hunt experience is returning to the seas of World of Warships, this time with a Soviet-themed coat of paint.
The goal is to sink Bounty ships or earn the Bounty achievement in Random Battles. If you choose to take on the Bounty status for yourself, your goal will be to sink ships and earn achievements.
You can get the Bounty status in the Armory in exchange for 100,000 Credits, and each player can purchase up to 80 Bounty statuses during the event, with the first three being free. The Bounty status will be removed once your ship is destroyed or the event ends.
Rewards include Soviet Era containers, Victory Banner permanent camouflages for several Soviet ships, Victory permanent camouflages, and Coal.
During the first week of the event, you'll be able to track the total number of Bounties destroyed and earn various goodies in the exciting and rewarding Leaderboard competition. The top 10 players in each region will receive Premium Tier VIII submarine S-189, or 5,000 Steel if they already have this ship in their fleet. The top 11–25 will get 3x Soviet Era Premium containers, and the top 26–50 players will get 1,000 Steel.
