Hi everyone! In our second devblog, we want to delve into a new feature that the player community has been requesting for a long time: the ability to play with a real team in Pro Team mode! Pro Team mode is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. It appeared for the first time in TDF14 and has evolved greatly since then. At the time, the base team was composed of fictitious riders (members of the dev team 😂), and you needed to play a Tour de France series to acquire new riders (without them leaving their original team). After that, races were added to the calendar, the annual classification and peak forms appeared, the fictitious riders were retired, and the maximum number of riders you could manage increased from 8 to 15. In the new 2024 edition, you now have two options: start at the bottom and climb the ranks from season to season in the same way this mode usually works; or play as a team of your choice and be competitive from the very first season. For example, you can play as Groupama-FDJ, but your budget will be restricted, and only a few riders from various teams will be available. However, you can only choose riders from this team at the start of the game. If you take control of a World Tour team, all races will be available, whereas Pro Team teams will need to be in the annual classification to have the chance to take part in the Tour de France and the Monument races like Paris-Roubaix and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Your rider can now join any team available in the game. You can therefore be part of Jonas Vingegaard's or Tadej Pogacar's entourage from the outset (although your Pro Leader might not be that useful to them in the early seasons ^^). In addition to these new features, various modifications have been made to the competition rules between riders. These rules prevent certain riders from being together in the same team or require certain riders to be present before a top-leader can be recruited. They have been updated for more flexibility and opportunities while continuing to ensure balance and adequate competitiveness from season to season. So, that's the latest on updates to the Pro Team and Pro Leader modes. See you soon in the next devblog.
