You all pointed out a lot of improvements that can be made, so this is phase one of those improvements Energy Changes: I have decided to remove the energy gained by destroying ships. This ended up giving players too much energy to work with and took away any threat of losing ships. It made the lose of a ship meaningless and I want there to be more stress around the loss of an asset. In real combat, the loss of a ship would be significant to any commander. This also allows better story telling through escalation of the fight. Difficulty Changes: The wave progression has been completely redone to be far more achievable at all stages of the game. Each level will have a different wave progression intended to be completable at first pass by highly skilled players on their first go, but most players will struggle after around wave 30. I believe this will reduce the grindy feeling some players are reporting. Other Tweaks: - Removed the ability to purchase ship levels. This just feels tacked on and I don't like it as a feature, - Added Surrender button so you can give up if you don't want to wait for your station to die - Added "Reset All" Button to the upgrade rooms. Future Plans: This is just a first run of the rebalance. I will be monitoring and playtesting it for a couple weeks, and then redoing the upgrades to be more interesting. Thanks for checking out the game and providing feedback!
