Ahead of Next Fest, the Sumo Tanks Demo has been expanded with new content and rebalanced for new players and tighter controls.
New Content

New Arena: Parthenon
Parthenon is a large arena broken up by several pillars. While the pillars provide cover not found in the Pool and (ironically) Pillar maps, they are too small to camp behind, unlike the walls in Hallway. Matches in this arena involve weaving in and out of cover while closing in for the kill.
Expanded & Rebalanced Campaign
14 levels have been added to the demo campaign, almost doubling it to 29 levels! The difficulty of the previous campaign was a problem for many new players, so special attention has been given to rebalancing existing levels and fixing the difficulty curve. If you got stuck last time, give the new demo campaign a shot!
Other Changes

CPU Difficulties
Similar to the campaign, CPUs have been rebalanced with the addition of a difficulty setting. When selecting "CPU" for a tank, you now have the option to set a difficulty from Easy to Expert. The better the CPU, the more aggressive it is and the better it is at staying in the arena. If you just want to mess around, there is a "Practice" option. Practice CPUs will try to stay in the arena but will not shoot at you. Also, yes, you can add "Expert" CPUs to your team in Campaign Mode.
Physics Rework
There are two major changes to physics: The first and most obvious is that tanks have much tighter controls and no longer drive like they're on ice. Turning and acceleration is faster, and tanks drift less at high speeds. Overall, the controls are much more responsive. The second change is that shooting no longer has recoil. Previously, shooting would push your tank in the opposite direction of the shot. While this could be used to cancel out velocity without turning (especially for the Dancer tank), it often just resulted in players shooting themselves out of the arena. Thank you to everyone who gave feedback! You can now shoot near the edge with no consequences.
Control Changes
Keeping with the theme of twos, there are two changes to controls. Reversing has been removed. Since tanks turn fast now, there is no need to reverse. The second change is more technical. The short version of it is that controller configurations are now bundled with the game and have changed to accommodate a new "multiplayer" button (foreshadowing online playtesting in a future update). Your controls should automatically update. However, if you experience any problems, you can rebind the controls through Steam Input or by accessing the Controls Options from the main menu:
The Future
Multiplayer for the demo is coming soon. Internal testing is just finishing and the last bugs are being squashed before the public playtest. More details to come in the next few days.
