Greetings, Blacksmiths!
We are thrilled to introduce the new features we've added to expand the boundaries of our blacksmithing craft and to create a wider variety of weapons. Among the most requested features has been the ability to craft curved swords, as well as axes, maces, and other weapons. With the latest update to Medieval Blacksmith, this is now possible!
Real Swords Have Curves
With this new update, you can now design and create curved weapons, from daggers to spears, using the weapon design table. Adjust the nodes in the curvature window to freely determine the shape, size, and depth of your weapon's curve. Create and forge katanas, falx, sica, scimitars, yatagans, shamshirs, shotels, and many more! However, remember that while a curve increases sharpness, it decreases piercing ability.
It's Time to Break Some Bones!
We've added a new class of "Heavy Weapons" to the game. This category includes not only maces and hammers but also axes, halberds, war picks, and war sickles. In this update, we've included 9 maces, 6 axes, 3 halberds, 2 hammers, and 1 war pick in the heavy weapon category, with plans to add more in the future. If there are any special weapons from different cultures you'd like to see in the game, please let us know through Steam or our Discord channel.
No, We're Not a "Family" in This Company
With the new worker employment system in Medieval Blacksmith, you no longer have to craft weapons alone. You can now buy slaves from the slave trader Khumaran to work in your shop. You can order them to produce the weapons you designed or to work directly in the mines. Thanks to medieval ethics, you can do all this without paying them a single copper, disregarding health and safety, and skipping unnecessary pizza parties that would motivate them. Initially, your slaves' first few weapons may be of poor quality due to their inexperience, but as they work, their skills will improve, allowing them to work faster and produce higher-quality weapons.
Various QoL Features
Based on players feedbacks, we've also added several quality-of-life features in this update. Here are the highlights: • Weapon Design Save: You can now save and name your weapon designs at the design table, saving you the hassle of recreating them each time. These saved designs will also be useful for production orders given to your slaves. This menu also shows your money, reputation, slaves, and usable production buildings. You can assign tasks to your slaves directly from this menu.
