The demo's primary focus has been on the new stat system and balancing around it. The following changes has been implemented:

Accuracy now affects Hit Chance, as well as Critical Strike Chance.

Strength now affects Armor and Attack Power.

Wisdom now affects Magic Resistance and Magic Power.

Physical Damage stat is removed, and replaced with the Attack Power stat.

Attack Power affects melee attacks and all physical damage abilities.

Weapons now has a direct Attack Power modifier on top of any primary stats. This attack power will also influence the base attacks of melee attacks and certain physical abilities that naturally depend on weapons (like Cleave).

Magic Power affects all magical abilities.

Magic Resistance is a flat reduction % to incoming magical damage. Both the player and the enemies has this.

Armor is a flat reduction % to incoming physical damage. Both the player and the enemies has this.

Hit chance affects both physical and magical abilities. At a later point, it will be possible to get a perk to turn missed attacks into glancing blows.

UI is updated to include more information about abilities, how much damage they give and what type of damage they do.

Base damage of abilities will increase by each level on top of any stat modifications.

All stats has been adjusted to higher numbers, making it %-based improvements/reductions more meaningful.

Temporary abilities and effects can now improve/reduce the secondary stats, instead of the primary stats. For instance the "Crippling Cleave", made with the Shield + Cleave Combo now reduces affected enemies' Attack Power by 10% for 10 seconds.
All in all the stat system is much more flexible now, and it enables many interesting options for items, abilities, effects etc.
At the same time information about the abilities is also much more transparent to the player, such that they can make more meaningful choices when building their character. It should all in all give a much more interesting player experience.
