Happy update day, folks!
We’re excited to present exciting new additions to the Animaze app. Check out the new features and improvements that are meant to take your v-tubing to the next level:

Alternate Audio-Based Lipsync Retargeting Mode: This new approach aims to retarget audio-based data to avatar lips by using smaller, more discrete animation parts, instead of dedicated viseme poses. The result? Your avatar will have much smoother and more accurate lips animation! This is particularly helpful for webcam-based face tracking and works really well when paired with the OVRL sound tracking library. Find out more about it in the dedicated article we prepared for it.

UI Update Rate: You now have the option to choose a lower update rate (fps) for the app UI, than the update rate (fps) of the avatar scene. Using this option will help save some CPU/GPU resources that otherwise would be used on UI. (e.g. main app at 60 fps w/ UI update rate 2, means UI is running at 30 fps). Find out how this function works in the dedicated article we have on the subject!

Record Mocap Data: You’ll now be able to record your avatar’s position, orientation, and support for clipping while recording. Clipping will create the .anmz on disk with the recording continuing until stopping it. Check out more information about it in our dedicated article: animaze.us/faq/tech/videxporter

New Camera Controls: This new option will help you change the control scheme for puppeteering, as follows:
F1 - avatar movement (default and same as before)
F2 - chase camera (same as the one from Axis Perception Neuron). Focuses the avatar’s head joint and following its movement
F3 - fly camera - freely moving around

Twitch actions: Multi-word support and support for word match on Chat Participation

Added support for Spout2: We’re making it more effective to video stream with the help of Spout2/any software that supports Spout2. The functions need to be activated from Settings > Dedicated Capture Window > Broadcast to Spout2. This also addresses the occasional dropped frames related to Game Mode capture in OBS, which was previously the only way to get the true Alpha channel to OBS.

We have also worked on the following bug fixes and improvements:

added customization controls for light projectors (see Underwater w/ Caustics scene)

tweaks audio-based lipsync retargeting: adjusted face tracking attenuation when visemes are active, removed teeth showing smiles when visemes are active and fixed left/right animations glitchy behavior when resetting visemes

fixed issues with missing workshop items from props and emotes galleries

fixed issues with stacked custom emotes (displayed textures would be wrong)

fixed crash related to Ultraleap tracker getting removed
