The Drava Valley Railway originates all the way from the early 1860s. The earliest stretches of track were built as the Carinthian Railway to Villach, with extensions further west happening some 8 years later. Modernisation would come to the line a century following its construction, with overhead wires making way for electric traction.
RSSLO’s Drautalbahn represents the 80-km section in Southern Austria between Klagenfurt and Spittal Millstättersee via Villach. This east-west line playing host to a variety of passenger services as well as freight. With the ever-reliable ÖBB 1016, haul these services through the Drava Valley in Train Simulator!
