Pixel Puzzles World War II, merging history with the definitive jigsaw puzzler on the PC platform.
The Battle of the Bulge (December 16, 1944, to January 25, 1945) was a major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II. Initiated by the Germans with the aim of splitting the Allied forces and capturing the strategic Belgian port of Antwerp, the battle unfolded in the Ardennes region. German forces, under the command of Adolf Hitler, launched a surprise attack against a thinly protected area. Despite initial successes and creating a bulge in the Allied lines, the German advance was eventually after weather improved permitting allied aircraft to attack German positions and supplies. The Battle of the Bulge became one of the largest and bloodiest battles fought by the United States during the war, resulting in significant casualties on both sides, but ultimately, it marked a turning point in favor of the Allies as they successfully repelled the German offensive and resumed their march towards victory in Europe.
