Hunter Chronicles: Tara and Vyn is an action RPG game with turn based combat, inspired heavily by the classic "Mario and Luigi" series.
It's been a very long time since we started this project, but we're still going! So, we decided to create a small playable teaser of the battle system as proof of our work and dedication to getting this game out!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You control both of the titular characters at the same time, with each of them paired to a separate action button. Your main methods of attacks are Jumps, Punches and Hammers, which require correctly timed button presses to dish out the most damage! (Pay attention to the upper left corner when choosing the attack, there's helpful blurbs telling you how exactly to perform each one!)
Similarly, during enemy turns, you can perform Jumps and Hammer moves to avoid and even counter enemy attacks! You can freely switch between those with the L and R buttons. Observing the enemy patterns, paying attention to their sound cues and choosing the right move in time are all crucial to avoid damage, and dish some back!
This teaser features 6 increasingly more difficult battles utilizing three early game enemies, and three extra challenges once you beat them! All three of Tara and Vyn's basic attacks are included, as well as two Duo Attacks - more elaborate moves that require both characters to perform!
(Unfortunately, we ran out of time to code in the practice and demo for the Duo Attacks, but we hope they are intuitive enough to perform...)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully this small teaser will be an exciting preview of things to come - this is just a small fraction of what's in store for this game!
(Keep in mind this Beta uses old graphics and doesn't reflect how the final product will look - if you'd like to see some of our current work, please support the game's development on Ko-Fi! We offer sneak peeks into the game's development at even the lowest tiers!)
