Please read for an important update for players experiencing issues with Train Simulator Classic. Following the update of Train Simulator Classic we've received reports from some customers experiencing issues. We are currently working with our development team and community on this. See below for updates on this.
Update Friday 28th April 13:00 BST
For customers experiencing freezing issues related to specific routes. We've identified a potential cause for this. Whilst we're working on a fix we have found a temporary solution that can be applied locally by individual players. You can find step-by-step instructions for this on our customer support site here.
Update Friday 28th April 13:30 BST
Thanks everyone who has sent us through feedback from yesterday's core update. The team have been working hard to identify the cause of some of the issues some players have mentioned since the update has come out. We wanted to update you in the areas we're currently investigating. We will be working on a post-release patch - which we want to thoroughly test before putting live - focusing on solving these areas. 1) Image handling, and offering additional protection on how the game recognises certain imagery 2) Add-ons that use DLLs 3) players using dynamic lighting 4) Number 4 camera broken We'll also be additionally investigating any areas we're seeing large numbers of crashes. The Experimental DX12 build will be be going live later this afternoon, and we're asking players to submit feedback for that in this thread. We will be monitoring feedback separately over the next couple of weeks. Thanks again, and we hope you're enjoying the new Core builds - which are the first step on our journey to a more stable, better performing Train Simulator Classic.
Update Friday 28th April 17:00 BST
The DX12 Experimental Build is now available. This can be selected from the launch menu after you hit play on Steam. You may need to restart Steam to see this option. Windows 10 or higher is required for this and the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime may also be required. Please note, this feature is in development so your experience may vary. Regardless of running DX12 or 64-Bit versions it's also a good idea to check and make sure you have the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and other required dependancies to play Train Simulator Classic.
