The Ancients - Development Letter #1

Dear Player,
Hope you’re doing well. It has not been long since we invented writing. We can't say it went very well after that. But here we are, writing our first development letter to you! We were warned to write an actual devlog but that didn't make us feel sincere.
It seems like a long time since the first game idea came up, but it's been nearly a year since we started developing the game “digitally”. Since then, we have worked day and night to give the player the best experience. Now, with our team of three people, we are counting the days until The Ancients’ release.
Inscriptions on cave walls have shown us how intelligible simplicity can be, so we want to start with the simplest question: What is The Ancients?
The Ancients is a turn-based survival/strategy game addressing dark ages of humanity. You can convert cavemen into civilized people; explore Ice Age World with only feet, like your ancestors did. Meanwhile, you can create your own culture and community to survive.
We are focusing on creating human culture and making decisions about that culture. We want to not only survive, but also blend these elements with creating culture and offer you a unique experience.
One of the most important features we offer is tribe management. Create policies for your tribe, whether you want to be dictatorial or democratic, violent or peaceful, equal or hierarchical. Each selection will assist you in dealing with problems in its own unique way.
“Less text, more playability” is very significant to us.We try to use a simple interface as much as possible in The Ancients to make the numbers more understandable.
Unlike other games, The Ancients pushes players to wander around and explore constantly. Also we offer you the opportunity to experience a new era with the time zone we use in the game.
To sum up, we intend to talk with you more frequently now that we have met. We will keep you informed of the development phase of the Ancients with our regular letters. Besides, wouldn't it be nice if we had a little chat once in a while?
We are very pleased to meet you.
Sincerely,
The Ancients Game Dev
