Hello wonderful friends! Today we are starting a developer diary series for Spirit City: Lofi Sessions! Our goal is to share some insights into the process of creating our game, the ideas and reasons behind our decisions, and to help our community understand us better! First of all, we want to begin with introducing Mooncube Games, the studio behind Spirit City: Lofi Sessions.
Who is Mooncube Games?
Mooncube games is a small indie studio based in Montreal, Quebec. We are three buddies who had worked together previously at other game studios, and finally decided to create a studio together based on our shared values. From left to right Alex - Co-founder, Audio Director & Business guy - Alex is the heart of our team at Mooncube Games. he juggles various roles, handling marketing, business, and audio direction. Outside of work, Alex is passionate about music, enjoys cooking, has a soft spot for Yoshi, and thrives on puzzle games. His dedication and lovely, wholesome personality fuels us on our gamedev journey. Felix - Co-founder, Designer & Programmer - Felix is a multi-talented force in Mooncube Games. He wears the hats of design, programming and tech art. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving, Felix ensures we stay organized and efficient. The perfect day for Felix would be chilling with a big plate of spaghetti, listening to the Sonic Adventure 2 soundtrack and working on Mooncube stuff. Keith - Co-founder & Art director - (That's me!) I work as Art Director, 3D artist and writer. I spend my day bringing our game to life by designing, then modelling the world and characters. I'm passionate about creating a compelling unique world. As a child my dream was to become a Sailor Scout, but game development was a close second. You can usually find me listening to 90s dance music and playing jrpgs and farming games.
Our Values
At Mooncube Games we want to create games that promote positive and uplifting experiences that align with our core values of kindness, empathy and inclusivity. We hope to do this by creating rich, unique worlds, with a diverse cast of memorable characters. We believe that games have the power to be evoke emotions, inspire change, and be a safe space for players. These values fuel every decision we make as a company. Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we hope you enjoy these dev diaries! Let us know what you'd like to see next!
