Our original vision

Since the very beginning, we knew we wanted to create a game where music had a major role, motivating players to move fast and deface everything around them. At the same time, we also wanted music that didn't feel "gamey". Very quickly, we realized electronic music suited perfectly our fantasy and we went to search for inspiration in the underground electronic music scene.
Finding the perfect composer

That's how we came to work with Trasto Nueve Vidas, a very relevant artist in this scene, who's played in some of the most iconic electronic music festivals in the world. With that in mind, WipeOut has been a huge inspiration for the game, in terms of how they were able to create a soundtrack with some of the most exciting artists of the underground scene, and helped them reach a whole new audience.
All about collaboration

Trasto Nueve Vidas collaborated very closely with our whole team. On one hand, he was of course composing all the music, but on the other hand, he was also in charge of all the audio implementation in the game, creating all the events that trigger music and audio reactions. Once our design team had a basic idea of a level they wanted to create, Trasto Nueve Vidas started to compose melodies that would fit its vibe, while the art team worked on the set dressing and progressively implementing their work in the level.
Evolving the music with the player

As some of you might have noticed, the music evolves with the skillset of the player. The more the player plays with flow and expertise, the more relevant the music becomes. This was a huge challenge to implement, both creatively and technically. Composing songs that had the space to evolve according to the player's actions turned out to be very difficult, but also very fulfilling, and we think the end result speaks for itself!
