Dear agents,
First off, we want to thank you for all your support for Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery.
The very first trailer for Reverse Collapse was released over two years ago in 2019, and we have not stopped working on this project since. This is a remaster of our first game, Code Name: Bakery Girl (2013), so it represents something special and meaningful to us. This is also an opportunity for us to make up for our shortcomings as an amateur game developer in our earlier years, so our team really went all-in to infuse the script with elaborate storylines, graphics, characters, levels, and mechanics. We hope that the final product will be presented as an exciting new experience that captures the essence of Code Name: Bakery Girl.

Beyond the visual update and code optimization, we came up with a lot of new and interesting ideas in the development process for Reverse Collapse, some of which have already debuted during live streams and offline demos, while other core content is still undergoing QA and optimization. Therefore, we have decided to move the release to 2022 so that the team can continue to work on the new content until the entire game is complete and polished.
Below you can learn about the development progress and what we will be working on in the following months:
1. Content and structure adjustments
Reverse Collapse follows the main storyline of Code Name: Bakery Girl (2013), in which the intelligence agency MID of the Antarctic Union carries out Code Name: Bakery in the North Caucasus over the course of two days and one night. It was clear to us that the original script was too short to cover the full extent of this exhilarating mission, so the team has been determined from the very beginning that we would rewrite the script to thoroughly showcase this mission.

While this is the same 2-day mission, the storyline will feature much more content with captivating details. The current, incomplete script, for example, has a word count eight times longer than that of the original.
To make the storyline more elaborate, the director and our designers have gone through many iterations of the script, sometimes overhauling an almost complete concept. The current structure of the storyline has been redesigned based on the Girls’ Frontline franchise and will be completely new upon the release of the game.

In addition to remastering the original storyline, during the creative process, the team came up with a new vision for how the script should be presented and eventually decided to pursue it by continuing to finetune the existing script structure. In the meantime, the ever-growing Girls’ Frontline franchise requires that new development is accurately reflected in the script of Reverse Collapse.
Therefore, the team can really make use of the extra time to refine the storyline in Reverse Collapse and connect it to the rest of the Girls’ Frontline universe. We are excited for the new script and its presentation to be a novel and impressive experience for our players.
2. Level diversification
As the storyline became more sophisticated, we had to add many new levels accordingly. Based on how the new script has been structured, the total number of levels in Reverse Collapse will eventually exceed that of the original by several times. Additionally, level placement has been dynamically modified to reflect the script changes.

Levels are a crucial part of the Code Name: Bakery Girl experience. So, when new levels were introduced, we were met with a lot of new challenges. In order to keep players entertained, we introduced more innovative and elaborate gameplay styles to the levels on top of the existing elimination and stealth modes. Moreover, a diverse selection of S-rank challenges have been integrated into the levels for additional replay value.

3. Improving the lore
As promised, our graphics team has created numerous cutscenes to help immerse players into the game’s lore.

After multiple rounds of testing and gathering suggestions from both inside and outside of our company, we realized that our static illustrations could not clearly express many key plot points. To help improve the game experience, we decided to combine 2D animations and plot illustrations with dynamic effects to help tell a more vivid story for each of the agents. While these new designs are much more time-consuming to create, especially with all the additional animations and special effects, we are extremely eager to show everyone the results.

So that’s where we’re at. The main content for Reverse Collapse has already been developed and we have now entered the home stretch of making final adjustments to the game. We are looking to further optimize every aspect of the game, including an in-depth review of the plot’s logic, a proofread of the plot details, a final optimization of each level, and an improvement to some of our visuals. We hope that Reverse Collapse can become a memorable experience.
Code name: Bakery Girl is a title that contains a lot of history for Mica Team. We hope that Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery can help new and original fans of the title alike to experience the charm of the original game while also introducing everyone to the Girls’ Frontline universe. (The development team behind both games are the same and we hope this game’s heart-felt stories can reach an even larger audience through our efforts.)
A big thank you to you agents for your support and understanding. We look forward to sharing more with everyone again!
