PUBG has today released its first new 8x8 map in a very long time, Taego, and it's all rather exciting. But while players are obsessing over Taego and all of the new shiny things that it brings with it - such as a new vehicle type, self-revive kits, and the Comeback BR system that gives eliminated players a second chance at a chicken dinner - PUBG Corp has slipped something rather interesting into the 12.2 patch notes.

For four of its existing maps - Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, and VIkendi - it has upped the amount of loot players can find in order to create a more "dynamic experience". While many would expect this to be a slight increase, the reality is that the spawn rates for items on these four maps has more than doubled - PUBG Corp is certainly not mucking about here. It's worth noting that this change is only for players on those maps in Normal Mode, and SUPER item spawn rates appear to be unchanged.

So, just how many more items are we getting? The most significant change, percentage-wise, is for Vikendi and Miramar, which have item spawn increases of 128.4% and 128.3% respectively.
