Phantom Fury takes place many years after Shelly’s fight against Jadus Heskel, where she awakes in a new world, pulled out of a coma at the behest of an old colleague. [h3]Do I need to play Ion Fury first before jumping into Phantom Fury?[/h3] [hr][/hr] No, you don’t. Both games might take place in the same universe, but they have a different story and characters. [h3]Who is making Phantom Fury?[/h3] [hr][/hr] Phantom Fury is being developed by Slipgate Ironworks, 3D Realms internal development studio. Slipgate Ironworks, formerly known as Interceptor, established the Bombshell franchise in the first place and is behind many titles published by 3D Realms for the past decade, including being the producer of Ion Fury (developed by Voidpoint). The studio has grown and changed significantly since the days of Bombshell. The team has expanded with a lot of new talent, people with years of experience in the industry in all areas of development. Several original 3D Realms developers are involved, such as Chuck Jones and Dirk Jones. The game director is Daniel Hedjazi (also known from Tokyo Underground Killer), whose company Phoenix Game Productions is also involved in the development. [h3]Is the development of Phantom Fury going to affect the release of Ion Fury: Aftershock?[/h3] [hr][/hr] No, it will not. Phantom Fury is a project developed by Slipgate Ironworks while Ion Fury and Ion Fury: Aftershock are developed by Voidpoint. Two different, independent studios working on each game.
