September Dev Update

Hi everyone!
Since the announcement of OutRage, we haven’t given an update on where we are and what we’re working on. This doesn’t mean we haven’t been really busy behind the scenes, so I’d like to share with you what is coming next.
Many of you will know that we’ve been running regular playtest sessions for the OutRage pre-alpha since the announcement. At the moment, these tests are very small-scale and exclusively with those people who are members of our Discord community.
Because of the small scale and the fact our community is spread throughout multiple timezones, it can be difficult to get enough players all online at the same time for these sessions.
In our October update, we’re adding several new features that will make it easier for you to set up your own sessions with other community members.
Firstly, we’re adding a custom lobby system with lobby codes. This means anyone can start up their own lobby, choose the game mode and map, and then share the lobby code with other players. Anyone using that code to join will find themselves in your lobby, even if they live in a different region. Want to play with your friend who doesn’t have access? All they will need to do is go to the Steam store page and hit the playtest button to get in or join the Discord! Then, you share your lobby code with them, and they can join you.
We’re also adding a message of the day to the title screen. This will allow us to communicate the dates and times of the following test to everyone directly in the game without having to rely on Discord.
We have some new maps coming in for our Survival mode to help keep things feeling fresh.
We’ve also been tweaking the combat and have added animations to make everything feel smoother.
We're trying out some new ways of delivering health during matches and have plans on adding an explosive new Over Rage attack. We can't wait to see how you guys use these new systems!
Finally, we’re introducing a new training area where you will be able to learn and practice the art of combat outside of a live multiplayer game. This will give everyone the opportunity to get to grips with the game before jumping in to play with others and offer a way to practice whenever you want.
We still have many more new and exciting things on the roadmap for OutRage, and we’ll be adding them periodically to our community test build as we develop the game.
The more people we have in our community, the more easily we can find others to play with - so please do invite your friends, and we’ll get them into the tests.
If you haven’t already done so, please consider joining our Discord community at https://discord.gg/outrage - We really do appreciate your support and enthusiasm.
Until the next update, keep kicking ass!
