Ever wondered what designing a level in a game looks like? We have recorded the process on Unity from the point of where we start designing. Well before the level design is implemented on Unity, we use good old fashioned pen and paper to map the level. This is usually a rough sketch on layout and basic look. In this level, it will feature two islands that are surrounded by beautiful oceans and mountains. Using Unity Terrain features, we create the land first. The mountains are then sculpted. We have opted for the mountains to be on the very edge of the level, so to the player they will be in the distance. Game level design is never straight forward or absolute.
