Weapon Changes

The Leaf Axe’s attack speed has been increased by 31%, and its damage has been reduced by 20% to compensate. This is to make the big starter weapon a lot more intuitive and familiar for new players.
Throwing Leaves and Thorns now have a magnetic effect when Koboo gets close enough. Hopefully it will make these beloved weapons of mine a lot less frustrating!
Removed weapon lunging from standard melee weapons (Rocky Shield will still have its bash attack).
Melee weapons will now freeze Koboo’s horizontal velocity to make aiming easier.
Leaf Axe, Spear, and especially Fae Daggers now have larger hit boxes, making hits and crits with them easier.
The Scorpion Venom weapon infusion has been reworked. Partly to give it more identity, partly to provide more build options, and partly for clarity.

Magma Orb Changes

Magma Orb’s damage has been decreased by 18%. We hate to do this, but due to a miscalculation, we’ve noticed this weapon was significantly overtuned. Worry not! It’s still quite usable, and can often out DPS many of its alternatives! It just won’t be such a boss wrecker as before.
Since the Magma Orb’s Inferno upgrade fully changes damage independent of the base version, those numbers have been decreased by 15% at Level 1, 18% at Level 2, and 12% at Level 3.
Magma Orb’s Volcanic upgrade, however, was not so devastating. It’s difficulty of use needs to be better rewarded, so we’re increasing its damage bonus by 20% at every level.

Tutorial Changes

The Tutorial has been shortened and simplified. You no longer learn about abilities in the initial tutorial section.
You can now switch between one of three weapons to test out on the dummy and take your preferred one to the upcoming fight.
You will learn about abilities in a popup when you first acquire one.
You learn about the comeback mechanic through a much nicer and clearer popup.

Enemy Alterations

Many Ranged attacks, including those of the Crossbow, Crossbow Knight, and Serpent Monk enemies will now have a lot more trouble aiming at Koboo when he’s behind them.
Made Controller attacks (Like from Storm Mages and Blademasters) more transparent.

Environment Fixes

Mushrooms won’t bounce the player as high as before, whether they bounce normally or with a slam attack.
Koboo will now properly sink into bodies of water.

Visual Fixes

Boss health bars will now fade out after they’re defeated.
Koboo is now properly animated while underwater.
Finished our Favor shop visual tweaks.
Changed the Spikes and Axes into Mushrooms and made them bouncy!
The tutorial boss will now fade the screen to black instead of white. No more flashbangs!

Settings

“Strike Where Facing” is now the default setting. Your settings will change to match this, but it can be turned off in the “Gameplay” settings

Bugs

Further increased queue-related crash resistance.
Koboo’s snake ability will now end upon death.
Koboo can no longer receive an animal ability before acquiring a weapon in the tutorial, resulting in the unique effect of having two instances of the same animal ability.
