[h1]Happy New Year, everyone![/h1] Today, I’m thrilled to announce that Direct Contact has officially been updated to Unreal Engine 5.5.1. This is a significant milestone as we continue evolving with the latest engine technologies. However, there are still some limitations with plugin support:[list] [*] DLSS: NVIDIA has not yet updated their official DLSS plugin for this version, but I’ve managed to find a workaround. [*] Other Plugins: A few other plugins are not fully compatible yet, but I’m working on integrating them as best as possible. [/list] [h2]Key Updates and Changes[/h2] [b]Megalight System:[/b][list] [*] All lighting in the game now utilizes the new Megalight system introduced in UE5.5. This provides improved visuals and performance. [/list] [b]Skeleton Meshes and Nanite Support:[/b][list] [*] For the first time, skeleton meshes can now be converted to the Nanite system. I’ve started transitioning some assets to take advantage of this, though it’s still a work in progress. [/list] [b]HQ Overhaul:[/b][list] [*] The HQ map had persistent issues with landscape saving, which caused major problems. To resolve this, 80% of the HQ has been reworked. [*] The HQ is now surrounded by a large wall, dramatically improving FPS and providing a more stable experience for most players. [*] Please note: The HQ is still a work in progress and may undergo further changes as we optimize it. [/list] [b]New Map: "Norway":[/b][list] [*] To celebrate winter, I’ve brought back the popular Norwegian Underground Facility map that many of you enjoyed during our Patreon sessions. [*] The map has been updated to fit the new engine but retains all its core functionality. [*] You’ll find this mission under the Norwegian Section on the mission board.
