We recently passed 1000 wishlists on Steam, and for that we are extremely grateful. Thank you to everyone who wishlisted and helped spread the word about Death of a Wish! As thanks, we’re unveiling this never-before-seen clip of an early boss fight in Death of a Wish, CRUSADE ENGINE URIEL: [previewyoutube=faAWMtFmoDs;full][/previewyoutube] As Christian sets out to destroy the oppressive cult that raised him, he’s soon confronted by Sanctum forces who harness the power of Nightmares to crush all that oppose them. When Christian gets in their way, they send the mechanical Nightmare-hybrid Uriel to end him. Crusade Engine Uriel is a clear and loud summation of Death of a Wish’s enemy design goals. Since Death of a Wish takes place after Born of a Dream, Christian starts the game much stronger than Lucah did in their game. He’s faster, better equipped, and can dance circles around the Nightmares with his Teleport ability. This means his enemies have been tuned to match. From the start of his journey, Christian will face enemies that can string together multiple melee attacks, some with tricky timings, and chase him down with blistering speed. Some enemies will not flinch at Christian’s attacks, and will require a graceful dance of aggression and parries to get through their defenses. The most dangerous enemies can even threaten Christian at long range, forcing him to engage. With its powerful, sweeping melee combos, Uriel is a massive danger up close, and its gatling gun can cut Christian down from halfway across the battlefield. To succeed, the player must help Christian strike a delicate balance between offense and defense, use Teleport to engage and disengage, and master parry timings for multiple attack strings. Once the player pulls this off, the game rewards them in turn: if Christian can keep up his aggression, Uriel’s defenses will crumble, letting him shred that massive health pool to nothing in seconds. This is the thrill of combat Death of a Wish aims for with every encounter.
