How do you do, everyone? Mangoku418 here! As you've probably seen from the title of this post, the Kickstarter for Dear Mom: My Letter to You has been canceled. However, I plan to relaunch the project at a later date. Over the past two weeks, we've reached almost $2,500 (about 25% of the base goal). It was a really tough decision, considering that so many of you already saw the potential of Dear Mom, and actively tried to support my project and my campaign. Alas, observing the statistics and community engagement, it was clear that the campaign wasn't going as smoothly as planned. I thought the best course of action is to start from a clean slate, take the time to reorganize, and come back stronger. It's unfortunate this round didn't go too well, but I'm glad that I ran this campaign nonetheless. As some of you may know, this is my very first commercial project and Kickstarter. I've learned a lot from this experience; the things that worked, the things that didn't, and the things I should've considered. It's given me a better understanding of what to tackle the next time around. And at the end of the day, it's super cool that I even got this far in my game development journey. It's certainly no easy task. I'm very grateful to all my teammates, backers, reviewers, supporters, fellow game devs, family, and friends for believing in Dear Mom. As for the game's development? We'll keep going. I'll continue to work with my team and while reframing my marketing strategy. I'll be reconsidering my reward tiers, funding goals, community outreach, and much more. We'll work really hard to make this project happen. If you have any feedback or suggestions on what you'd like to see, feel free to share! Any help is much appreciated. ******************************************************************************************** In other news, an updated version of the Dear Mom demo is now available for download!
