I'm a big fan of the Steam Deck and something I really want to get is Daemonologie working on it. Unfortunately there are some issues with Unreal Engine 5.4 (latest version at the time) and Steam Deck compatibility. The good news is the game is perfectly playable on the SD! I have an OLED and LCD models and it works great on both with no performance hiccups at all. There are however a couple of downsides: - In it's current state Daemonologie's Steam Deck compatibility is limited to touch screen/simulated mouse input. I've not managed to get controller support working and considering the UI nature of the game it's not a small task to get them functioning with the mouse based input the game is built on. However I have taken steps to alter the game to make sure it all functions well with touch screen input, text is large enough to read and buttons big enough to press. - UE5.4 has a bug on SD with prerequisites installation. Every time you launch the game on Steam Deck it will ask you to install/uninstall the UE5 prerequisites. Unfortunately the bug forces you to go through the installer/uninstaller every time even though the SD does not require the prerequisites. If you don't go through the prerequisites install/uninstall each time then the game will simply close. Myself and other devs have reported this to Epic but unfortunately the last patch from them didn't solve this issue and it looks like it is unlikely to be fixed by Epic before the launch date. The game still plays perfectly fine once you are in but you just have to take the extra few seconds when you launch the game to go through the pointless prerequisites install/uninstall until Epic fix this bug.
