Grab your art supplies, tablet, or mouse – we've just announced the Arma 3 Art of War contest and are calling on you to get creative!
By taking part, you'll be helping to develop the "Arma 3 Art of War" charity DLC. This small but meaningful DLC will consist of the contest's winning entries, plus two singleplayer scenarios developed by Bohemia that will make use of the new assets. It is scheduled for release on Steam in Q4 2020 at an expected price of 2.99 USD / EUR / GBP. 100% of Bohemia's proceeds after tax from this DLC will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for their response to the COVID-19 pandemic and continued efforts in protecting the lives and dignity of those affected by armed conflict. After approximately 10 months of sales/fundraising, the charity DLC then becomes permanently free for all of you to enjoy.

As for the contest, it is open in 4 different categories; props, character accessories, character clothing – plus a special 2D artwork category in any medium on the theme of International Humanitarian Law in future conflict. If you're interested, you can learn about the challenges that new technologies present for organisations such as the ICRC here, on their website.
Or if you'd rather, you can wait for our addition to the DLC's playable content, where contest entries will be lovingly showcased and the topic explored as part of a virtual exhibition, hosted by Arma 3's very own fictional NGO, the International Development & Aid Project (IDAP). In addition, we'll also be adding a short singleplayer scenario, featuring the winning entries from the 3D asset contest categories.

Besides supporting a charitable cause, there are also a few other incentives for entering the contest, including splendid prizes. 1st place winners will have their choice of a Wacom Intuos S drawing tablet or a collection of professional Derwent art sets, plus a copy of the sumptuously illustrated book, "Art and War", a limited edition Arma 3 silver medal, a back-catalog of all our games, and an Art of War T-shirt. Runners-up will also receive a medal, our games, and the T-shirt, as well as the book with a fine collection of sketching pencils for 2nd place winners, and a handy sketching wallet for drawing on the go for 3rd. Last but not least, there's also the prestige of getting your name in Arma 3's credits and the fun of seeing your own work in-game as official content – a great addition for any portfolio!
