Dev Talk: Roads of Avalon Revisited

Albion’s next major content update is just around the corner, and we can announce it will be called [b]Beyond the Veil[/b]. Today, in the first of several in-depth looks at some of the new features and changes coming with this update, Game Director Robin Henkys introduces some significant improvements to the [b]Roads of Avalon[/b].

[h3]Changes to Hideouts in the Roads[/h3]
A number of new features will help players to make their homes in the Roads:
[list] [*]Hideouts in the Roads will be able to be declared [b]Headquarters[/b][/*] [*]Hideouts [b]will require power [/b]to be maintained [list] [*]There will be an initial three-day grace period before this applies[/*] [/list] [/*] [*][b]Power Cores [/b]can be found in the Roads, but cannot be carried to or from the open world[/*] [*]Guilds seeking to control entire Hideout regions within the Roads will have to be [b]considerably more active [/b]to do so[/*] [*]Hideout construction can be [b]accelerated[/b][/*][/list][b][img]//assets.albiononline.com/uploads/media/default/media/c393af9911b4509ff477d5e4856b32869be88802.jpeg[/img][/b]
[h3]Logout Changes[/h3][list] [*]Logging out in the Roads will return you to the [b]place you first entered [/b]the Roads [list] [*]This causes [b]durability damage [/b]to equipment, and the [b]loss of some stacked items[/b][/*] [/list] [/*] [*]Players who are disconnected will have an [b]extended window to reconnect [/b]before being removed from the Roads[/*] [*]This will prevent players staying in high-value locations to scout them constantly, making the Roads [b]more competitive and rewarding exploration[/b][/*][/list][b][img]//assets.albiononline.com/uploads/media/default/media/f529a6523a637bad9871350f5d64dbb34dc19202.jpeg[/img][/b]
[h3]New Objectives[/h3]
The types of objectives found in the Roads have been expanded:

[h3]Large Group Content[/h3]
The reworked Roads will provide challenging and rewarding content for groups:

These changes should reinvigorate the Roads of Avalon as an area for[b] small group play [/b]and [b]independent guilds[/b], providing a variety of PvE and PvP options and rewarding exploration. We hope to encourage new guilds to enjoy this content, and can’t wait to see who makes their home in the Roads.
